I realized this was going to be a review of Taylor's recorded works I really wanted a reliable biography but all reviews of those offered on left me feeling that one didn't exist so I bought the one book I felt would at least be truthful It proved to be a track by track description which for the most part could be acuired much enjoyably by simply listening I had hoped for the elucidation of some of his obscure lyrics but received only speculation about what he may have been saying what he meant and how others might interpret the lyrics The author is a music scholar and I was aware he was going to write about the forms of Taylor's compositions but it proved to be excessive and super intellectualized I found myself wondering if Taylor read the book himself would he be amazed at how unknowingly scholarly he was in writing his songs So dry and tedious I gave up trying to find anything of interest to a l
